Native American Wisdom:
Give Thanks for Beauty

At this time of the year, I give thanks for all the gifts and
love I have received. But My Creator, may I never forget to
give thanks for the beauty and love residing in all things.

Have You Ever Caught a Snowflake?

I stood in a snowstorm one day surrounded by all that beauty. I felt good, and reached out and caught a snowflake in my hand. Have you ever caught a snowflake? Aren't they beautiful, so fragile and so clean. I know that beauty does not come by accident, it has to be created. Someone once told me that that there are never two snowflakes exactly the same. I'm sure no one can make a snowflake. I certainly couldn't, my hands are too big and clumsy. I know the maker of snowflakes must have tender loving hands to fashion such a tiny exquisite creation and drop it from the skyworld for me to enjoy. Since there are never two snowflakes alike, the Great One must care for each one separately and love it in His own way.

As I looked upon the snowflake in my hand, it reminded me that the Great One had also created me, and none of us two-legged are exactly the same, but in his eyes we are all just as beautiful to him.

Alas! My snowflake disappeared. I have only the memory of something beautiful that has passed my way. How wonderful it would be if everyone that belongs to Him could leave such an impression as we journey down life's road.

HE LOVED US EVEN BEFORE WE KNEW HIM.
